ORDER OF MUBARAK AL‑KABIR

The premier award of the State of Kuwait, also known as The Order of Mubarak the Great. This order was instituted in 1974.

The Order is mainly given to Heads of State and Foreign Royalty.

Badge ‑ An eight pointed white enamel star bearing the emblem of the State of Kuwait, being a small shield of the National colours of black, red, white and green supporting the head and outstretched wings of a falcon. Between the wings a two masted dhow upon the sea, above which is the inscription, "State of Kuwait", in Arabic. The central star is surrounded by an ornamental arabesque design in gold on dark blue enamel edged in gold.

Star ‑ Similar to the badge but larger.

Ribbon ‑ Blue with three white stripes.

How to wear ‑ The Badge is attached to the bow of the Sash which is wom over the right shoulder. The Star is pinned onto the left breast.

VIP recipients ‑ HRH Prince Khalid bin Sultan Abdul Aziz, awarded the 1^st Class.

HRH The Prince of Wales in November 1993.

Former British Prime Minister Lady Thatcher in November 1991.
